Last Day of School & Father's Day

 Bellingham, for some reason, had their last day of school on Wed.  Everyone down in my area had it a week ago, but I was actually glad that they didn't get out until then, because that was my scheduled day to be in Bellingham.  The school Saben and Annika go to celebrates kindergarteners graduating very simply.  The parents line up and form an arch with their arms for the kids to walk under.  The kids all had on these graduation hats and the parents cheered for them while they walked through the arch.  Annika said they were told to hang on to their hats because it was windy outside.

I was glad I got to be there, but it also made me feel emotional to see her graduating from kindergarten!

 A new 1st and 3rd grader.  We celebrated the end of school by going to have some ice cream at one of their favorite ice cream parlors.

 Later, we went to the park and Ken joined us to play "under dog" on the swings.

 Back at the Young's house, Ken and Saben spent some time working on a computer program that Ken had given Saben to work on.  Annika and I colored together while they worked on the program, then the four of us played "Go Fish", while Kari made dinner.

After the Father's Day dinner that Kari made for us, we ended the day with all of us playing "freeze tag" outside.  It's been a long time since I've played "freeze tag" and instead of not wanting to be tagged, I did want to be tagged to take a break from running around!

A great Father's Day hug to start our lunch off!

For Father's Day, Ken wanted to have lunch at a place in Everett called "King Noodle", where you can watch them make the noodles for your soup through a window in the kitchen.  There was a bad reflection in the window, but hopefully you can see the guy making the noodles.

 In this picture, he's making another type of noodle called "shaved" noodles.  He used a knife and just "shaved" them off the chunk of dough in his hand.

 After lunch, we went to "Forest Park" in Everett.  Seth's favorite thing to do on a playground is to swing.  He had plenty of people to push him that day.

Trip to Bellingham

As I made the detour around the bridge, I was able to take a couple of pictures out the car window of the gap in the freeway.  (Luckily, there was enough traffic on the detour, that I was going slow enough to take the pictures!)

Saben had a long paper chain that he had made and he decided to drape it all over himself.  When I showed it to Ken, he thought Saben looked like a famous picture of Houdini draped in chains.

The reason Saben got his paper chain out to show me, was because Annika had decided that she needed to make a paper chain to countdown the days until her birthday.  Here she's displaying her chain that shows 43 days until her birthday.  Saben made a new paper chain also, to count the days until the 4th of July.
