Our Niece's Wedding

Our niece Meagan, got married on July 5 in Colorado Springs.  These are some pictures taken by the photographer, our niece-in-law, Megan. Tiffany, helping Meagan with her veil.

Walking the bride down the aisle is an emotional time for most fathers.

Peter couldn't get his ring on, so he licked his finger to get it to slide on.

Time for all married couples to dance.  The DJ had couples slowly leave the dance floor as he called out the number of years of marriage.  We left when they called 50 years or less.  The last couple on the dance floor were Peter's grandparents.
Dave and his Mom danced together later...
...and had fun doing it.

Rings

As many know, I lost the diamond out of my wedding ring while I was doing jury duty in June.  Then a few weeks later, I lost the stone out of my other ring.  This is what they looked like without their stones.
This is how my ring looks now with it's new diamond.  They not only replaced the main diamond, but also re did the prongs that hold the diamond, so hopefully, I won't lose it again.  The jewelers recommended that I bring it in to be checked and cleaned every 6 months, and I'm going to try to remember to do that.

Elliott Family Picnic

Sunday afternoon, we had a family picnic in Wenatchee.  My cousin, Carol brought some water balloons and had a water balloon toss.  Here, Denaye is "tossing" her balloon to her youngest son, Caleb.
Only a few made it to the second round...
...which then turned into a water balloon fight.  (Notice the balloon heading towards Carol, that her granddaughter Mariah threw at her.)
Later, after filling some more water balloons, another water balloon fight started and Ken got involved in it this time.
I think Ken got Melia with one.
My poor Mom was sitting quietly under the covered picnic area, when another cousin, Terry, (standing next to her) tried to throw a balloon, but it broke in his hand and my mom got a shower from it.  (She has a napkin in her hand and is trying to mop up some of the water.)
Cousins!  (From left to right in the back row, my brother, Tim, my cousins,Terry and Larry.  Front row is me and my cousin, Carol.)
More cousins, my Mom, my brother and sister-in-law.

Annika's 8th Birthday

We met Kari, Saben and Annika for lunch in Bellingham before her birthday party last Wednesday.  We gave her the gifts from us while we waited for our food, since we weren't sure we'd be able to stay at her party until she opened her gifts. (It did turn out that we had to leave before she opened gifts because Ken was helping in our church's VBS.)  One of the things we gave her was a book with some comics in it, called "Phoebe and Her Unicorn", which she started reading while she waited for her lunch.
One of the other things we gave her was another stuffed bunny, to go with the one she had gotten when she was a baby and has been her favorite stuffed animal.  She decided about a week before her birthday that she really wanted a "sister" for "Itty Bit".  The new bunny's tag said "Ltty Bit" instead of "Itty Bit", so that's going to be it's name. (There's a picture of both bunnies farther down.)
Annika's party started at the ice skating rink in Bellingham.
Even though it was cold in there, Annika wouldn't put a jacket on over her birthday dress.  She started off trying to skate without help...
...then decided to use the helpers at the rink until she was able to go on her own.
Saben came by the area where we were sitting, so I grabbed a picture of him.
Every once in awhile, all the girls gathered together on the ice to talk a bit.
Saben made a few rounds of the rink, then decided he really didn't enjoy ice skating.
Another gathering of the girls including two moms.
After awhile, they started using the helpers to push one another on the ice.
Annika pushed Riley, but fell in the process.

Annika and three of her friends.
After leaving the ice skating rink, we headed back to Annika's house, where they all jumped on the trampoline that Annika got for her birthday.  (It looks like Saben is going to land on Annika, but he didn't.)
Ken gave jumping a try also.
Another shot of everyone in the trampoline.
 Snack time.
The two bunnies, you can tell that "Itty Bit" has been well loved!
Time to blow out the birthday candles.
