A Sunny Day With Seth

Wednesday, Seth and I went to a park near their house.  There were a couple of big stumps that he climbed.
Seth took his bike with us so he could show me how well he was doing riding it.
He is doing very well riding his bike, he reminded me a lot of Saben since he was riding so well.
Another activity while we were at the park was according to Seth, "ninja training".  Walking across the chain bridge was a part of the "ninja training" that he did.

Art Time With Annika

When I went to see Saben and Annika last Thursday, Annika wanted to do an art project with me.  I told her that we might be able to do one after dinner because I wanted to do something that Saben could do with us before dinner.  After dinner, we worked on making a car out of a sack.  It had to be a big enough sack that she could sit in it.  She thought it needed some wheels, so I put it on a chair, let her sit inside it and pushed her around.  She even put a steering wheel inside the sack so she could pretend to steer it.
This is the back of the car, with tail lights and stick figures in the back window that shows the members of the family that owns the car.
This is a close up of the figures in the back window.

Easter Egg Hunt

 Holding back the hordes!
 Almost time to go.
Seth found one in the rocks.
This one looks like it's out of reach...
...but Annika was able to get it with a little help from Dad.
On the run to try and get more than the others.
 A pretty full basket!
There must be something up here.
 Found another one.
This was a tricky one to get down.
Saben worked hard to get the one on the basketball rim to come down, but finally after several throws of the basketball, it came down.
Starting to check out what they got.
Annika got a little lamb in one of her eggs.
Saben's haul.
At the end of the hunt.

Saben is 10!

The day after we flew home from Colorado, was Saben's birthday party with his friends.  Kari had a guy come to the party to do some "Live Action Role Playing" with the kids.
I don't really know a lot about what they were doing, they were almost done when we arrived.
The next activity on the agenda was playing "capture the flag'.  Annika was on the green team...
...and Saben was on the orange team.  This was the "flag" for the orange team.
The guard for the green team, guarding their "flag".  The orange team captured their "flag" during both rounds.
Kari stuck some "firecracker candles" in the ice cream, then got nervous when she tried to light them.
Saben blew out the candles, but Kyle re-lit them.
Happiness is an ice cream sundae that you were able to pile lots of toppings on!
 Eating the sundaes!
Kari sprayed Saben with the can of whipped cream, but another boy kept jumping in front of my camera so I missed that picture!
 Annika and her friend Scarlett.

Olympic Trainging Center

The day before we flew home from Colorado Springs, we visited the USA Olympic Training Center there.  We got to see several areas where the Olympic athletes train.  It's mostly the summer Olympic athletes that train at this facility, so we saw some people working with barbells/weights and some men swimming in the Olympic sized swimming pool.  We saw other training areas also, like a gymnastics area, but no one was practicing when we were there.  Outside of the facility was this podium and Olympic circles, where I claimed the gold medal podium, while Carol (the silver medalist) tried to get me off the gold medal podium.  Ken didn't get into the battle and was content with the bronze medal.
